RiversLochs_bigThe other day I received my autographed copy of Bruce Sandison's Rivers and Lochs of Scotland and I have hardly been able to put it down since.

This is a new, hardback edition,  comprehensively  and completely revised describing  more than 5,000 freshwater fishing locations complete with access details, good flies to use, tactics and where to obtain permission to fish. The book is arranged around OS maps and 6 figure grid references, making the task of going from book to map or map to  book a snip

This truly   is the most significant and useful book for  anyone fishing in Scotland bar none.  This book is the real Scottish angling  bible.

Bruce Sandison's Rivers and Lochs of Scotland really is the only book on fishing in Scotland that an angler will ever need.

Sandison is one of the UK's finest angling writers and he has earned an international reputation for his determination to protect Scotland's salmon, sea-trout and brown trout stocks. He has been fishing in Scotland for nearly sixty years and his work has appeared in most of the UK's leading newspapers and magazines. He has also worked extensively on radio and television. His accumulated knowledge of fishing and his well-documented love for the environmental integrity of his native land is reflected in the pages of this comprehensive new edition of Rivers and Lochs of Scotland.

Sandison is not one of those angling writers who visit  Scotland for  the odd a few days each year during the various “duffer’s fortnight”  periods and think they know it all; Sandison lives and breathes the place and has done all his life. That kind of  experience cannot be bought or taught, it has to be lived.

At a mere £20 every angler should own a copy of this terrific  book. It would also make  a wonderful  educationally eye opening gift for any angler whose knowledge of  fishing in Scotland goes no further than the various  glorified fish farms we call  put and take fisheries.

I really cannot recommend it enough.
