donbigThe River Don Trust  is an  independent charitable Trust briefed to contribute to river and fishery management for the benefit of all fish species living within the aquatic habitat of the catchment.

The Trust is  equally representative of proprietorial and community interests. The Trust  has a broad based agenda for the improvement of freshwater aquatic species and their habitat and the consequential environmental, economic and political benefits derived from their works.

How Can You Help?

The River Don Trust is a charity and raises money to fund projects to improve the habitat, for education and for research into all aspects of the Don valley. The  Don Trust  is always looking for new ways of raising money.

The Don Trust receives  no government money and has to be self financing. Any money received in the form of grants is for specific projects that stem from the approved Fishery Management Plan action plan and is not used to run the office, pay the biologist’s salary or for any other administrative functions.

Each year anglers travel from all over the UK and beyond to enjoy the River Don’s wonderful wild brown trout fishing. If you are an angler who enjoys fishing for wild brown trout, sea trout or salmon, please consider making a donation to support the work of the River Don Trust and its hard working, dedicated team. It’s up to we anglers to care for  the waters we enjoy, no one else will.
